Rooted in Melaka,
Built on Trust
For more than two decades, Tuah Estate has accompanied families through some of life's most significant decisions — arranging affairs with care, precision, and respect for every generation involved.
Back to HomeTwo Decades of Estate Practice in Melaka
Tuah Estate was founded in 2004 by a small team of legal practitioners who saw a clear gap in Melaka: families needed thoughtful, accessible guidance on wills and estate matters, delivered without the complexity and distance that larger firms sometimes impose. The firm took its name from the Melaka legend of Hang Tuah — a symbol of loyalty, perseverance, and service that transcends generations.
Over the years, we have grown carefully, choosing depth of expertise over breadth of scale. Our practice remains focused on three core areas: will drafting and registration, trust formation, and probate administration. This specialisation allows us to maintain a standard of attention that generalist practices often cannot sustain.
Today, Tuah Estate serves individuals, families, and business owners across Melaka and the surrounding states. Many of our clients come to us at pivotal moments — the birth of a child, the passing of a parent, the sale of a family business. We take that responsibility seriously.
Our Mission
To provide individuals and families in Malaysia with clear, considered legal guidance on estate matters — ensuring that the arrangements they put in place today offer real security and clarity for those they care about.
Our Values
- Discretion — Client matters are handled with complete confidentiality.
- Clarity — Legal concepts are explained in plain language, without unnecessary complexity.
- Patience — Every client is given the time and space they need to make informed decisions.
- Accuracy — Documents are prepared with meticulous attention to statutory requirements.

How We Maintain Professional Quality
Every matter we handle is subject to a consistent set of professional protocols designed to protect clients and uphold the integrity of the work.
Malaysian Bar Compliance
All solicitors at Tuah Estate hold valid practising certificates issued by the Malaysian Bar. Practices are reviewed annually in line with Bar Council requirements.
Document Accuracy Protocol
Each will, trust deed, or court document undergoes a three-stage review — drafter, senior associate, and principal — before it is presented to the client for execution.
Client Confidentiality
Client files are stored in secured, access-controlled systems. We observe strict solicitor-client privilege across all communications and engagements.
Continuing Legal Education
Our solicitors participate in Bar Council CPD programmes and estate planning seminars each year to remain current with legislative changes and case law developments.
Plain Language Communication
We are committed to explaining every step in language clients can act on. Legal jargon is clarified before documents are signed, and clients are encouraged to ask questions at any stage.
Professional Indemnity
Tuah Estate maintains professional indemnity insurance as required under the Legal Profession Act 1976, providing an additional layer of assurance for all clients.
Estate Planning Practice in Melaka, Malaysia
Tuah Estate operates from Jalan Hang Jebat — one of Melaka's most historically significant streets — and serves a wide range of clients including local families, business proprietors, and Malaysian citizens residing abroad with assets in the country. Our practice is built around the core disciplines of testamentary law and estate administration under Malaysian statute.
Will preparation in Malaysia requires careful attention to the Wills Act 1959, including statutory witnessing requirements, executor capacity, and the formal language of bequest. Trusts — whether created during life or at death — demand an equally precise understanding of the Trustee Act 1949 and relevant tax treatment. Probate and estate administration involve court processes under the Probate and Administration Act 1959 that can be navigated more smoothly with experienced legal representation.
Tuah Estate brings this statutory knowledge together with a practice style that prioritises the individual — their circumstances, their family, and their intentions. We serve clients across the Malay, Chinese, and Indian communities of Melaka, and our team is accustomed to working across cultural and religious contexts with sensitivity and care.
